At the recent American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) meeting in New Orleans, personalmed.com conducted a very successful survey of doctors in attendance. We were delighted to receive 115 responses! The survey focused on two areas:
- What are the pelvic health issues you see in your patient population, and what are the treatments you recommend, if any?
- What is important in the personalmed.com website?
The personalmed.com team has analyzed the survey results and will summarize them here. First, the frequency of urinary incontinence and related conditions is shown below. Over 60% often see Stress Urinary Incontinence (SUI), and over 70% often see pelvic pain.

Remember, if your health care provider doesn’t ask you about pelvic health issues, be sure to mention any that might be of concern!
65% of respondents recommend Kegel exercises. Many fewer are familiar with the use of vaginal cones for practicing Kegels.
The remainder of the survey asks about patient websites in the abstract and personalmed.com in particular. Medically-sound, easy-to-understand information were considered the most important items by 95% of the participants, with related links and selective product information also considered useful.
We are using this information as we enhance and improve personalmed.com!
